This is the USB port panel of the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . It has USB-C! No word on if either port supports fast charging, but yay?

What if you took a USB to USB-C cord and plugged each end in? Does the truck explode?
![]() 03/01/2018 at 18:09 |

Can I jump-start it through the USB-C port?

It better support USB-PD, or what’s the point of having a C?

The new Ram has two of them in it. They even called it Ramcharger!

C is becoming the new standard?

I think the big news is that it FINALLY. HAS. PUSH. BUTTON. START. STANDARD. ON. A. DODGE. JOURNEY.

But without the added featuees, just hand out a USB to C adaptor, and fit 3x as many devices with one port.

Right, but without the features of C, it’s just an adaptor. May a well hand out adaptors.

But you can lose an adapter. Say no to dongles.

I don’t get why this is an important feature.

Because the thing is like $65,000 and doesn’t even have it. You get power running boards but you still have to take your key out of your pocket and push a button on it just to unlock your door. Doesn’t make sense.

Seems like a solution to a non-existent problem to me.

When you have it you’ll understand what I’m talking about. I never have to worry about taking my keys out of my bag. Plus, when I open a door for a passenger, I unlock my door too. When I close the rear swing gate and have a lot of stuff, I just push the black button on the handle. It’s probably my favorite automotive “convenience” right now (backup cameras are mandatory now).

... What uses USB-C?
![]() 03/01/2018 at 22:28 |

The majority of Android phones and Apple laptops from the last couple years. The iPhone X has a lightning port but fast charges with USB-C power sources.

Huh, TIL.

Yeah, but can I drop a pointy toolbox on it?

The new Ram has them as well, 2 USB C’s and 2 old school USB ports.

Once you have it, you’ll never go back. My ST and CX-3 have it and I keep the keys in my bag (fine, man purse, whatever). Usually in the hatch
